Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Captain?

Capt. Shank has been running boats up and down the east coast of Florida for years! Everything from charter fishing on a bay boat to captaining state of the art Sportfishing yachts in marlin tournaments.

Tell me about the boat!

You’ll be fishing aboard the Reel Pleasures, a 57ft custom killing machine! You’ll find she’s one of the most comfortable, smoothest running, and LARGEST boats in the fleet but that doesn’t mean she’s slow with a cruise speed of 24knots there are not many sportfish boats that can pass her! The climate controlled cabin boasts a nice carpeted floor to keep engine room noise to a minimum along with surround sound entertainment, microwave, and TV, and a bathroom.

What should I expect?

When we go fishing ,there are seasons that some fish are here while others leave, so while you may want to catch Mahi Mahi, tuna could be a better option. Your Captain and crew will use there knowledge to find the fish and use the most effective way to catch them. Finally, it’s the ocean, if you don’t frequent it you might want to take seasickness medicine. No one is impressed by the hero who’s too cool to take it that’s now “chumming the water”

What should I bring?

When you’re on a fishing charter, unless you stay inside the whole time you should expect to be exposed to the elements. Make sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, suntan lotion, not spray. Now don’t forget the food and drinks, on a half day some snacks may be fine but for a full day you will get hungry. Make sure to pack a lunch and stay hydrated. We have no problem with alcohol but make sure to bring some Gatorade and waters for the people who partied a little too hard the night before.

Should I tip the crew?

Yes!  The Crew makes their money off tips so please acknowledge their hard work with a 15-20% gratuity!

Can you have my fish mounted for me?

Yes!  We can have your fish mounted so you will remember the experience the rest of your life!
